Animal Facts
Have you ever wondered what happens to a shooting star? Does it just
disappear? Or does it land on our planet earth? Well, most shooting
stars dissolve before ever reaching land. But some very special
shooting stars fall on Japans rich earth and become so much more. They
become a Hoshi No Kitsune.
What is a Hoshi No Kitsune? When the shooting star has landed, it
transforms into a little fox. The young cub is born with a small orb
that holds their most precious belonging - their soul. The Hoshi No
Kitsune is very careful to hold onto this orb; if it is ever taken
away or lost, the creature loses most of it's powers and weakens
ever slowly until it dies. If the ball is destroyed, the Hoshi No
Kitsune dies immediately. If the fox reaches adulthood, it becomes a
great and beautiful Kitsune.
Hoshi No Kitsune are rather solitary and prefer to live on their own.
Due to there being no need for a mate, they do not go out for breeding
seasons. Human contact is rare, but does happen occasionally. When a
human befriends a Kitsune, it becomes very loyal. Eventually it grants
all of the humans wishes, desiring only to please the human. A great
bond is formed between man and creature, one rarely seen between other
species.
