Kouji belongs to a special species of animals. He isn't just your normal cat, he belongs to the "beast men", meaning he can speak in his cat form and can also change into a human form. The most special thing about him would be that he has 9 lives. He is always cheerful and a bit hyperactive. His favorite hobbies are eating and teasing his beloved Yoshitsune. Kouji's biggest fears are being alone and water. He can't even cross a brigde without being afraid.

He is a lively and friendly guy, but mistrusts others on principle because of his past. The family he had been living with had replaced him with a new pet and thrown him out, even tried to drown him. Betrayed he wanted to die, but he found good reasons to live on, the first being Hiroaki, who saved him and showed him that he could still trust people, even though it's still not easy for him. The second big reason is meeting a dragon who had been caught. He still sees it as fate that they met that day and again some time later becoming teammates. Kouji fell for Yoshitsune the instant he laid eyes on him and ever since then protected him and will always do so. Third is Momo, the little dragon they saved from a horrible place. He becomes something like his little brother he always plays with and cares for. They love to cause trouble together.

These 3 are his best friends and they were and still are the only 3 persons he trusts wholeheartedly and who make him feel happy to be still alive.
