The Yorkshire Terrier, often referred to as a "Yorkie" for short, is a toy sized dog with a fine, silky, and long coat. The color of a Yorkie's fur doesn't usually vary and the body color of these dogs is usually grey, while their faces are a tan color. They have small, V-shaped ears. Yorkies can grow up to 6-7 inches in height and weigh up to 7 pounds as an average. Because of their long hair covering their eyes, often Yorkies have to have their "bangs" tied up in a little ponytail to make sure they are able to see and keep the fur out of their eyes.

Yorkies are very adventurous, eager dogs that come from North England. This breed was bred to catch rats and mice that scurried around clothing mills, and also to chase down foxes and badgers in their small burrows. Today this little dog is used more for fashion than anything- they enjoy being carried around in purses or bags. Yorkies are very active and love going on walks whenever they can, though they love being inside with their families as well. These wonderful, tiny dogs are known for their loyalty, bravery, intelligence, and their adorable nature.
